President Bush decided to announce his first nominee to the Supreme Court with a flourish on prime-time television Tuesday night, setting off what could be a major struggle over the direction of the nation's highest court.


Yahoo! reported $875 million in revenue, excluding fees shared with affiliates, a figure known as traffic acquisition costs (TAC). Though revenue gained 44 percent over the same period last year, the consensus estimate was for $881 million, according to Thomson First Call.

Wal-Mart's CEO Lee Scott is expected to meet with Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh Tuesday, a move that some industry watchers say clearly underlines the retailer's growing commitment to enter the subcontinent sooner than later.
